Twenty years ago, we began with a small, determined idea: that the live events industry could be a place where people can rebuild their lives, find belonging, and forge new futures. What started as a crewing company has grown into something none of us could have imagined: a thriving social enterprise proving that business can drive lasting social change.

These numbers matter, but they are only the surface. Behind each one is a person who took a step forward, a team who supported them, a client who believed in our mission, and a community that refused to give up on what was possible.
Over twenty years, through growth, through upheaval, and through moments of reinvention, one truth has guided us: people come first.
It’s the reason we protected jobs through the pandemic, why we built the Academy to create a gentler pathway into work, and why Stitch was born, to evolve, diversify, and create even more impact. It’s why we mentor, why we collaborate, why we keep learning from our crew, clients, referrers, and partners. And it’s why we continue to push for better standards, fairer work, and more sustainable ways of operating across the events industry.
This report brings those human stories into the light, the voices of trainees, graduates, trainers, clients, and colleagues who have shaped who we are today. Together, they form a clear picture: Connection Crew is at its best when we act collectively, share openly, and lift each other up. That spirit of collaboration has always been our strength, and it is the foundation of our updated Theory of Change as we enter the next era of our work.
