We turned 20! A Night of Celebration, Connection & Inspiration at BFI Southbank 🎉
On Tuesday night we celebrated a huge milestone - Connection Crew’s 20th anniversary! And what better place to mark two decades of fighting homelessness through our work with the events industry than the iconic BFI Southbank, one of our most longstanding clients.
We were joined by more than 80 friends, partners, clients and crew from across the events and social impact world - including Steeldeck, Production Bureau, Underbelly, Broadsword, Wavelength, Design Council, St Mungo’s, Beam, Social Enterprise UK and The Big Issue. It was a room full of early adopters, long-time collaborators and true believers in business for good.
A huge highlight of the evening was the launch of our 20-Year Impact Report, packed with stories from our crew and our network. Click here to read it.
The night also featured three brilliant speakers:
Lord John Bird, founder of The Big Issue, who talked powerfully about hand-ups, not handouts - and even sang a song to emphasise his message! John stayed after the speeches and spent time chatting with all our guests.
Camilla Marcus-Dew, our Head of Ventures who challenged the events industry to push for even bigger impact.
Our director, Warren Rogers, who shared the history of Connection Crew and our headline stats from 20 years of work - including 499 people affected by homelessness supported into living wage work and nearly 300,000 hours of social-impact hours delivered.
We left our audience and report readers with one simple question:
What one small change could each of us make tomorrow that, together, becomes transformation?
It was a joy to celebrate with the people who’ve helped us get this far - from our crew and partners to clients who’ve backed us since day one.
