How inclusive is your venue / site?

Inclusion starts on site — and we’re 20 years in

This year marks our 20th birthday at Connection Crew — two decades of building, lifting, rigging, and making things happen across the events industry. As we look back on everything we’ve achieved, we’re also looking ahead: how can the next 20 years be better for everyone on site?

That’s where our Inclusive Venue Survey comes in.

It’s a quick way for clients to let us know what the team can expect when they arrive — things like bike storage, access to hot drinks or a quiet space, and whether there’s someone on site looking out for wellbeing.

It might seem small, but taking five minutes to tick some boxes and share those details can make a massive difference to someone’s experience.

The idea is simple: when we know more, we can brief better, plan better, and our crew are better looked after. We also get to shine a light on the great stuff our clients are doing to promote inclusive practices for everyone — and help raise the bar across the industry.

The events industry knows all about inclusion, wellbeing, and reflecting values. But it’s not always clear how those things show up day to day, for the people building stages, moving kit, or making the events run. Often, things like water access and hot drinks are seen as a given — so much so, the information doesn't get shared; and if the people working on site don’t get told, they might not know.

This is a way to bridge the gap.

Everything shared in the survey is handled with care. We only pass on the parts that directly help crew prepare — like what facilities are available. If anything needs updating later, just drop us a line.

So!

If you’re a client — thank you for filling it out (because we hope you will)!

And if you’re part of the wider industry — we’d love you to take a look and feel free to nab it. Put it into practice with us.

It’s as easy as ticking boxes.

But it's building something better, from the bottom up.

As we celebrate 20 years of Connection Crew, we’re proud to say inclusion has always been part of our DNA. The survey is just one way we’re making sure that stays true — for the next 20 years and beyond.
